As the moon is embraced by a pink cloud Sailing past in a pale blue sky All the heavens rejoice with amusement Love-struck clouds do not often float by And though nightfall approaches with quick speed Still the cloud lingers on with her moon Whisp'ring tender sweet-nothings yet sighing For she knows that their time will end soon But for now, all who look to the cosmos Have their faith reaffirmed in true love For the couple lean in for a kiss now And faint magic shines high up above Yet the moment of sweetest surrender Is destroyed by the limits of spac For the moon stands too far from earth's surface For the cloud to reach out to his face And the shattered cloud breaks into pieces While the moon's light is dimmed with despair Then the night falls and sings ever softly So to mourn for their doomed love affair
